A Lift Check Valve is a valve where the disc, periodically called a lift, can be raised off its seat by a higher force of channel or upstream fluid to let flow to the opening or downstream side. When the power is no longer higher, gravity or higher downstream pressure will cause the disc to lower onto its seat, closing the Valve to stop reverse flow. A principle keeps the movement of the disc on a vertical line so the Valve can later reseat perfectly. A lift check valve is generally used in piping systems where globe valves are used as a flow control valve. They have seating arrangements similar to globe valves.
