Basket Strainers are used to trap solid contaminants from liquid streams. They use mesh-type baskets fitted in an external strainer housing called a Basket Strainer. The advantage of Basket Strainers is that they provide a much higher filtration area than Y-type Strainers and Tee-type Strainers. Basket Strainers are installed upstream of Pumps, Valves, and other process equipment. This helps protect the expensive equipment from damage and downtime.
